Battery Charging Station Etiquette
First of all, thanks to everyone for your encouraging and enlightening comments. It makes me think that there is definitely an audience out there of people who want to learn more about electric cars, share their stories and also hear about the travails of me and my husband, newbies in the world of EV driving. Today, I want to share with you a video from one of our readers.
Thanks to plugin.cars.com for this amusing video which tackles not-so-funny etiquette issues such as Can I unplug a charging car to sneak in some voltage? Should pure electric cars such as our Leaf or the ‘Cadillac’ of all EVs the Tesla get priority at charging stations over the Chevy Volt and other plugin hybrids? That latter is something that has been bugging my husband, who thinks its unfair that he is competing for charging station space with cars that have a backup means of getting home while he does not. I really like the idea in the video of leaving a note on your car to say at what time it will be fully charged so that someone else (such as my husband, of course) can plug in even if all the stations are in use.
